Elevator Pitch No. 2: Stud-ease

This elevator pitch was much easier than the first elevator pitch I gave. First of all it took a lot less takes in order to stop stuttering and fumbling over my words. I received a lot of great feedback from my last elevator pitch and used that advice in order to make this elevator pitch better. The first piece of advice I was given was to narrow down the who in terms of the target customer. I chose to narrow in on the college aged students specifically for my service. I also received feedback that I moved too much and talked too much with my hands which I know I have a bad habit of doing. So I made a big effort to not use my hands as much and only utilize them when I needed to. I think the comment I received that surprised me the most from my last pitch was the fact that people thought my pitch was really good. When I uploaded my first pitch I honestly felt pretty defeated because I didn't think I delivered it the best I could but after take 100 I decided it wasn't going to get much better. The fact that people thought it was dynamic and interesting made me feel as though I was being too hard on myself which is something I often do as well.

  1. I really like your idea, I wish i kinda had something like this when I started here at uf instead of stumbling around for the first semester until i found what works for me. I'm more curious how are going to teach these people to learn to learn? Maybe you could mention some of it in your elevator pitch? Just a short thing of how a student who has to see things to learn them could be taught to learn.

  2. Hi Skylar, I really like your idea and think that it could absolutely help students study more effectively. The quiz to qualify what study system works is a great idea. Are there different levels of packages you could buy, or is it an all or nothing system?

  3. I thought this pitch was very clear; I understood the audience you were targeting and the objective of your business. I really liked the incorporation of props too, it was unique! Although you wrote about people telling you not to use your hands much when you talk, I suggest that you just work on purposeful hand gestures. Everyone uses their hands when they talk, but for a pitch you just want your gestures to have meaning. The lack of them made you look somewhat stiff when you were not using the props. My idea is also geared towards students:http://lfrancie.blogspot.com/2016/02/elevator-pitch-no-2.html

  4. Skylar,
This is the best elevator pitch I've seen thus far. You really captured my attention and thought a lot about how you would present your idea. I was intrigued and I even got a chuckle out of it. Beyond this, I think you have an idea that would genuinely work on college campuses! I really have no criticisms! Good job!
