Elevator Pitch No. 1: Stud-ease
Learning how to effectively study for tests is never a talking point in school. Teaching yourself how to do this proves to be especially difficult and finding the right technique for you is even more difficult. This usually involves trial and error and could be frustrating and defeating to kids and adults alike. In order to solve this problem I've created an idea of generating a study plan just for you based upon your learning style. It will pinpoint how you learn best through a quiz and will use your results to find the best study fit for you.

Hey! I think your concept is really apropos for the gainesville area. The biggest challenge for your company (or group) would be differentiating from other study programs in the area. With so many study edge-type groups in the area, I'd imagine it'd be hard to break into a market where (a)competition is high because of the oligopoly, and (b) the high costs that are associated with these kinds of groups (office space rent, electricity, tech requirements [computers] and salaries for tutors [which are not cheap]). If you could find a model that breaks out of the mold, then I think your group would do well given the high demand.

Great pitch! I feel bad for me now my pitch is so lame compare to yours. You also found a good opportunity, I think you just need to be more specific on the Who. There is a lot of study programs today, but there is also a huge demand on this area. Try to focus on one group with a specific need.

I loved your pitch and think your study program idea would be very beneficial to this area. How do you expect to break into the market, which contains Study Edge, Smokin Notes, and Tutoring Zone? I do believe that their personal quiz to determine your learning style will increase your chances of success and will be great at differntiating yourself from the rest of the market. ReplyDeleteHey Skylar,
ReplyDeleteYour pitch is great! I love the idea of using the glasses and a test with an F mark on it. I think it really gets the viewers attention and makes it easier for you to connect with the audience. Try to avoid unnecessary body movements and maybe narrow it down to one specific group of people. Good luck!
I think you have an amazing idea! When I was younger I always had a difficult time studying, as I would study the wrong things constantly. I eventually learned my correct method. However, last semester I had a concussion and was no longer able to study in the same way because I just wouldn't retain anything. Having quizzes or even a class in school teaching different learning techniques is a great idea and I wish it was something I had when I was younger! I would send you my link but I never finished this assignment. But great job and keep it up!
